The Limpopo Provincial Government, in collaboration with the National Cleaner Production Centre South Africa, will officially launch the Limpopo Industrial Symbiosis Programme on Thursday 25 April 2019, in Musina, Limpopo.
The Industrial Water Efficiency (IWE) Project completed its first year of operations on a high by recording actual water savings of 89 000 kl (or m3) from its very first case study. These savings translate to cost saving of R2.2 million, confirming positive rewards for industry that is willing to adopt water efficient processes and technologies.
The National Cleaner Production Centre South Africa (NCPC-SA) held its third biennial Industrial Efficiency Conference, in Cape Town, from the 14th - 15th September UNDER THE THEME: “Transition to a low carbon economy”.
The event was aimed at equipping industry, including small, medium and large manufacturers, retailers and businesses, with an awareness of how to benefit from the implementation of resource efficient and cleaner production (RECP) in their processes in their journey to becoming cleaner, more sustainable businesses.
The Industrial Efficiency Conference 2017 focused on how industry can transition to a low carbon economy in a manner that enhances economic growth, job creation, sector competitiveness and business profitability.
The programme showcased case studies and best practice on how to integrate resource efficiency into an organisation – in line with the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition to the main themes of resource efficient and cleaner production (RECP), the conference demonstrated tools and programmes to support sustainable business growth.
