Regional Manager - Western Cape

Lee-Hendor Ruiters has been with the NCPC-SA in its Western Cape regional office since October 2011 and was responsible for the Tourism and Hospitality sector before his appointment to regional manager in December 2014. This sector was not previously serviced by the NCPC-SA and Lee-Hendor has been responsible for forging relationships on a national and regional level to introduce the concept and methodologies of RECP to this non-manufacturing sector.

Prior to joining NCPC-SA, Lee-Hendor worked as an Enterprise Development Specialist at the CSIR Enterprise Creation for Development (ECD). Other positions he has held include Local Economic Development (LED) Regional Manager at the Department of Economic Development and Tourism (Western Cape) and, LED/IDP Project Implementation Officer at Theewaterskloof Municipality.

Lee-Hendor has a Bachelor of Arts in Development and Environmental Studies, and also completed his BPhil degree in Sustainable Development Planning wtih the Sustainability Institute, at the University of Stellenbosch.  He is currently completing a Masters in Development Finance at the University of Stellenbosch Business School.

In 2013, he was selected as one of four NCPC-SA project managers to participate in an international Human Capital Development (HCD) programme aimed at building organisational capacity in NCPCs from nine developing nations, being run by German development agency, GIZ on behalf of the UN’s global RECP network, RECPnet. Subsequent to his participation in the programme's Face2Face workshop that was held in Germany early in 2014, he was selected to act as a Peer Coach to a group of five NCPCs for the 2014 HCD programme.
