Welcome to the NCPC

The National Cleaner Production Centre of South Africa (NCPC-SA) is a national programme of government that promotes the implementation of resource efficiency and cleaner production (RECP) methodologies to assist industry to lower costs through reduced energy, water and materials usage, and waste management. It is hosted by the CSIR on behalf of the Department of Trade and Industry (the dti).

The NCPC-SA is a member of UNIDO and UNEP’s global resource efficiency and cleaner production network (RECPnet) and plays a leading role in the African Roundtable on Sustainable Production and Consumption (ARSCP).

    NCPC-SA and South African pavilion at Africa Utility Week
     
    The NCPC-SA will be one of the technical partners of the annual Africa Utility Week in Cape Town next week, 15 to 17 May 2018. The Centre, represented on the advisory board of the event, believes the conference and supporting exhibition will once again be an excellent platform for discussing and sharing on issues around energy and water. 
    African Utility Week takes place at the International Convention Centre in Cape Town. This event has been running for 18 consecutive years and has established itself as the largest power and water utilities exhibition and conference on the African continent.

    Congratulations to ZuluGal Retro for walking away with Silver in the 2018 Eco-Logic Awards in the Recycling and Waste Management category. This Durban based social enterprise produces recycled and up-cycled wallets and other fashion accessories made by differently abled individuals and their caregivers.
