Applications now open for Global Chemical Leasing Award 2020

Applications are now open for the Global Chemical Leasing Award 2020.  The Award intends to showcase commitments to innovative and sustainable management principles, and will acknowledge best practices, innovative approaches and ideas related to Chemical Leasing and similar performance-based business models for sustainable chemicals management.

The National Cleaner Production Centre South Africa (NCPC-SA) concluded its 4th biennial Industrial Efficiency Conference, bringing together representatives from industry, government, international partners such as the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and senior representatives from NCPCs in Ghana, Kenya, Uganda and Zimbabwe.


Only 4% of the waste generated in Africa is recycled. This and other findings are outlined in the Waste Management Outlook Report released by the United Nations Environment and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) on World Environment Day, at the Sustainability Week in Pretoria.

The Limpopo Provincial Government, in collaboration with the National Cleaner Production Centre South Africa, will officially launch the Limpopo Industrial Symbiosis Programme on Thursday 25 April 2019, in Musina, Limpopo.

 

The Industrial Water Efficiency (IWE) Project completed its first year of operations on a high by recording actual water savings of 89 000 kl (or m3) from its very first case study. These savings translate to cost saving of R2.2 million, confirming positive rewards for industry that is willing to adopt water efficient processes and technologies.
