The workshop will primarily provide insight to solutions offered through the NCPC-SA’s Industrial Energy Efficiency Project. Since its inception in 2010, the South African Industrial Energy Efficiency (IEE)Project has assisted industrial companies to reduce energy use by 1 220 GWh, saving participating companies some R1.7 billion in energy costs.
This has been achieved through the promotion and implementation of Energy Management Systems (EnMS) and Energy Systems Optimisation (ESO) and the strengthening of industry capacity in the energy efficiency field.
The day’s programme will commence with a panel discussion on the topic of energy access and affordability with experts from the CSIR, the NCPC-SA and the Independent Power Producers Association, and senior representatives from the retail and manufacturing sectors.
This will be followed by presentations on:
- Energy management systems
- Energy modelling and alternatives
- Energy systems optimisation
- Energy financing
- Co-generation and biofuels
Industry case studies and success stories
Delegates can expect practical solutions and opportunities to sign up to the subsidised services of the NCPC-SA for help with implementing energy management in their companies.
