Toyota Boshoku SA (Pty) Ltd (TBSA) is a subsidiary of Toyota Boshoku Group, based in Japan. TBSA manufactures car seats and door panels for Toyota South Africa Motors, and is based in Umbogintwini, KwaZulu Natal. The plant comprises one large building which houses the entire operation.

Tenneco Automotive is an international automotive supplier with more than 90 production facilities worldwide. Two of these are located close to the automotive hub in Port Elizabeth. Tenneco South Africa joined the IEE Project as a host plant for EnMS expert level training and showcased the implementation of ISO 50001 energy management system (EnMS). 

King Shaka International Airport (KSIA) in Durban, KwaZulu Natal is the first green field airport under Airports Company South Africa in over 50 years. It was opened on 1 May 2010. KSIA uses vast amounts of electricity and, since it was was opened, there has been a consistent effort to save energy, specifically by reducing the demand for electricity for lighting and air-conditioning.

Polyoak Packaging is a privately-owned plastic packaging manufacturer specialising in the design and manufacture of injection and blow-moulded rigid plastic packaging material for various industrial sectors. Polyoak has manufacturing and distribution centres in Cape Town, Durban, East London, Johannesburg and Namibia. 
Sappi is a global manufacturer of paper and paper-based products, with operations in Europe, North America and Southern Africa. The Southern African operation has six mills and consumes 46,4 million GJ of energy per annum, of which 17,4 million GJ (37%) is generated in-house.
Sappi Cape Kraft is a paper mill based in Montague Gardens, Cape Town, and is the only plant in South Africa which uses only 100% recycled paper as its input raw material.
